The JAVMA welcomes you to our website.

The JAVMA was organized by Dick Atkinson and a group of local veterinarians in 1998 as a regional chapter of the Virginia Veterinary Medicine Association.

  The purpose of the JAVMA is to:

• Support the highest quality Veterinary Medicine in Central Virginia by offering quality continuing education
• Encourage discussion and cooperation among local Veterinarians
• Support the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg by awarding the annual Dick Atkinson scholarship to a Veterinary student from our area.
• Foster cultivation of professional fellowship among Veterinarians in Central Virginia.
